West Side Creative Hub “Grand Open House” Welcomes Community to Experience New Collaborative Creative Space
West Side Grows Together proudly invites the community to the Grand Open House of the West Side Creative Hub, taking place on Thursday, April 30th from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at 610 N. Union Street in Wilmington. This event marks the official launch of a creative space rooted in community, culture, and collaboration, and represents a milestone years in the making.
When residents and stakeholders came together to shape the future of Wilmington's West Side, they were clear: the arts were not a luxury but a foundation for community life. That vision, documented in the resident-driven West Side Revitalization Plan, called for dedicated spaces where creativity could take root and grow. The West Side Creative Hub is that vision realized. Neighborhood-based and community-centered, the Hub connects artists, residents, and partners through creativity and collaboration, expanding access to the arts, elevating local talent, and advancing the community-driven development goals that West Side residents have championed for years.
The Hub's work is guided by four clear goals: to celebrate creativity and culture by highlighting local artists and creative expression; to strengthen community connection by creating opportunities for residents and creatives to build relationships; to increase access to the arts by providing an open, welcoming space for participation; and to support neighborhood development by activating a visible space that reflects the pride and possibility of the West Side.
Managed by Wilmington-based artists Vanity Constance and JaQuanne Leroy, the Hub prioritizes accessibility and opportunity for artists, entrepreneurs, and community members alike. Together, they bring a deep commitment to the West Side and a shared belief that creativity is a powerful driver of community well-being.
